  • Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a direct payment arrangement with your primary care physician to provide care for acute and chronic medical conditions.

  • If you think you will be late to an appointment, please contact us as soon as possible.

Cancellation policy: We understand things happen, and plans change. In the event that you need to cancel we ask for 24 hour notice. No penalties or fees for cancellation.

If you need to cancel your membership, see below.

If you decide to rejoin at a later date, you may be asked to pay a re-initiation fee.

  • No, Insurance is fundamentally incompatible with providing quality, affordable care. In the Direct Patient Care (DPC) model, you pay a reasonable, flat monthly membership fee. For a la carte services you pay at time of service.

NO copays, bills, or insurance paperwork. You get access to nearly comprehensive care for an affordable price.

Although we do not contract with insurance ourselves (including Medicaid), all members should also have health insurance to cover out-of-office services from OTHER providers (such as tests/labs, imaging, procedures, and specialist and emergency room visits). Insurance can also help pay for routine vaccinations. For many insurance plans, out-of-network benefits may reimburse specific in-office services.

Your membership fee may be reduced / offset because:

    • The fee is designed to be eligible for HSA, HRA or FSA funds—please check with your tax advisor.

    • Based on your annual medical expense threshold, the fee may be partially or fully tax-deductible.

Most insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits that may reimburse for services (the specifics depend on your plan).

We require payment at the time of the visit, and we can provide an itemized receipt (superbill) that you can submit to your insurance.

Our goal is to provide a wellness plan for every child, even a healthy child. Wellness visits play a crucial role in preventing illness and promoting your child’s well-being, as well as keeping you informed about your child’s development. We are also here for urgent or immediate medical care needs.

At Ashika MD we provide the gift of time which allows us to address the needs of the moment in a relaxed and easygoing manner.

With time, we will build a comprehensive and invaluable understanding of your child allowing us to enhance health and wellness.

  • Our membership model eliminates cumbersome billing practices and paperwork, which would take time away from patient care.

At Ashika MD, Dr. Sharma will only take on a panel of about 350 patients. That’s in comparison to fee-for-service providers who see on average 2000-4000 patients.

This gives us the time we need to focus on your health concerns with no distractions. This model of care results in reduced need for specialist referrals, urgent care and ER visits, and long hospital stays.

  • Just like everyone else, Dr Sharma will take vacation periodically! We will provide advance notice of any planned absences and notice for any absence due to illness or family emergencies.

If Dr. Sharma is completely unavailable for an extended period, we will arrange for a board-certified pediatrician to take care of any needs that arise while Dr. Sharma is away.

  • We do offer non-member visits for sports medicine issues (concussions, sports injuries, sports exams) based on availability.

Because we are extremely conscientious about providing high quality care and appropriate follow-up to our patients, we are unable to provide one-time services for well checks, mental health concerns, long-term chronic conditions.

  • We hope to create a lasting relationship with our patients, but in the event that you need to cancel we ask for 30-day notice in writing. No penalties or fees for cancellation. If you decide to rejoin at a later date, you may be asked to pay a re-initiation fee.

Membership may be canceled by AshikaMD if a member habitually misses appointments.

We are still available to provide care while your membership is still in effect. Because charges are filed monthly, we will refund a pro-rated portion of your final month as long as all other fees have been paid
